SYMPHONIC TRAINING PROGRAM

Proudly supported by the Hills Shire Council, the Symphonic Training Program provides young musicians with an invaluable opportunity to grow, learn, and excel.
Focused on well-known symphonies by celebrated composers, the program broadens each student’s musical potential by developing their classical orchestral repertoire while nurturing essential values such as communication, teamwork, and discipline.

Under the guidance of an experienced conductor, the program includes 40 scheduled rehearsals and two concerts, featuring carefully curated repertoire that reflects diverse cultural perspectives and artistic ideals.

Rehearsals: Friday evenings during the school term.

Sydney Hills Junior Orchestra

Training in the Junior Orchestra focuses on foundational symphonic skills, including learning how to watch and follow a conductor, understanding orchestral etiquette, and developing ensemble awareness.
For wind, brass, and percussion players, the program introduces techniques and repertoire not typically encountered in a concert band setting, encouraging students to refine their technical sensitivity and adapt to the unique demands of orchestral performance.
